Checkout page redirect user back to homepage

Hi Shopify Community,

I’m experiencing a weird checkout issue for my client’s website that’s proving challenging for me to diagnose. I saw some merchant’s faced this issues previously in the past but seems like there’s no solution to it besides “clearing browser cache” as per suggested.

The issues where some of my client’s customer is facing is that when clicking the checkout button on the cart drawer, upon landing to the checkout page it automatically redirect back to the home page and clears the cart.

We tried replicating this issues from our end but we couldn’t replicate it, it seems like its a user-specific issue. I have reached out to Shopify support on this and they have executed clearing cache on the merchant account and yet it’s still didn’t resolve anything.

Anyone knows how do I move forward on resolving this? Appreciate it.

Hi Nyanko_sensei,

When proceeding to checkout, if the cart is empty, the checkout page will redirect to the home page. We cannot replicate this issue on our end, so we need to investigate further on the client’s side. A script maybe clearing the cart while proceeding to checkout.

Hi Naveen,

How do we move forward on this for you to investigate further on the client’s side? The issue still persist and I kind of need a fix for this.
On our side, we found out that it is happening on Dawn theme too (one of our client’s internal team tested). I have video of proof of the testing.
Since we know that even on Dawn theme it is happening too, I suspect it must be one of the apps installed on our store but we are still unsure how do we move forward to resolve this issue. Appreciate it if you can suggest any solutions on this.

Thanks,
Regards Nyanko_sensei

I am also having this issue right now. not finding a fix anywhere

Block the scripts in the network panel of each app individually. This will be useful to identify which app is causing the issue. You can then contact that app’s support team to resolve the problem.
