Theme: Redirect behavior in Hydrogen/Oxygen custom storefronts when directing checkout to a subdomain.
Initial issue: After configuring DNS per Shopify’s guide to route checkout to checkout.mydomain.com, all collections and static pages began redirecting to checkout.mydomain.com instead of staying on mydomain.com.
Resolution: Shopify acknowledged this as a platform-side issue (confirmed via a Slack thread) and deployed a fix shortly after. The original reporter confirms the problem is resolved.
New report: Another store using Hydrogen (Shopify’s headless storefront framework) experiences checkout traffic redirecting to brandname.myshopify.com rather than remaining on www.mydomain.com. This disrupts branding and user experience. The user reviewed Hydrogen and Shopify settings but the redirect persists.
Status: The first incident is closed following Shopify’s fix. The second, related redirect issue remains open with no identified cause or solution yet.

hey - we’ve got a Hydrogen / Oxygen headless built where the checkout is going to checkout.mydomain.com and the rest of the site is at mydomain.com.
The issue is that all collections and static pages are redirecting to checkout.mydomain.com NOT mydomain.com. This happened after setting up the DNS per their guide here: https://shopify.dev/docs/custom-storefronts/oxygen/migrate/redirect-traffic#direct-checkout-traffic-to-the-subdomain

I posted this issue in the slack thread here: https://shopifypartners.slack.com/archives/C02F94JC3QC/p1687799668603189 - here I received confirmation that this was an issue on Shopify’s end. They also were able to deploy up a fix for this shortly after. I am confirming that this issue is now resolved!
