Choosing "continue selling" or "stop selling" when you have only 1 unit in stock at the time

Hi everyone,

So I would like to ask for your experience with how to input the stock quantity on my store.

Let say I have 1 unit for 1 item in stock ( but I can still get more from supplier). Should I choose “continue selling”? What worries me is if I sell that item that day and another customer orders the same one same day, I cannot fulfill the order for the second customer. I will have to ask the second customer to wait for me to get a new one from my supplier and it may take a week or more to do it.

If I choose “stop selling…” then I will miss the chance to sell it to the second customer.

What’s your advice for this please?

You could consider offering your customer the Pre-order feature. Some apps will assist you with this function such as PreOrder Now, which helps you automatically replaces the dreadful ‘Out of Stock’ button with an inviting ‘Pre-order Now’ button so shoppers can buy your products even when they’re out of stock. As a result, you offer a better customer experience and sell more products.
