Class action lawsuit for suspension of stores / loss of data without notice

Did you get an email saying your store was blocked?

Nope, no reason. Just out of the blue my store was deleted. I’ve been waiting months to get copies of my sales etc for tax purposes this year. Shopify will not respond regarding that store. Once tax season hits if I haven’t heard anything I’m going to contact Oliver law group to handle the class action suit. I’m not sure how many people Shopify has pushed around and done this to but I guarantee it stops with me. I don’t care how much it costs to pursue this lawsuit because at this point if something doesn’t happen a lot more people are going to suffer

I also do not get documentente for taxes. Also, Shopify had the nerve to tell me when I asked how to refund customers for returns that they can just open a chargeback which costs me 15€ in fees. I will definitely join a class action lawsuit if possible but my company is located in Germany.

I have a horror story as well. Someone changed my payout info 3 times. Shopify never told me. Not one email, not one text and not one call. The only reason why I realized it is because the third time the bank said they couldn’t put deposit through that account.

when I logged on all my payouts adding to $55000 were paid to someone else .

Shopify wont help me

Shopify told me to go to authorities. How do they not have a security in place and how do they not let me know . They wont give me my money back. AN they tell me I cant speak w anyone.

they also told me they don’t keep emails longer than a few weeks, because I asked them to send me the email that they claimed they sent to me. They donate have it. They also told me they don’t have cyber insurance .

this could happen to anyone

I didn’t get my money for a month but the payouts showed paid to me. When finally looked into it they had sent the money elsewhere. 2 different account numbers that I didn’t provide. Money is gone

My money was paid to someone else $55,000

. 2 different accounts ts and I won’t get my money back. They suggested I hire a lawyer. I am devastated, now they are holding $20,000 because payment is failing.

It seems that they hold a lot of money from a lot of people for way too long for no reason whatsoever.

I reached out to the legal department hopefully someone there will realize how completely distorted this story is. Truly not to be believed .

My shop was closed for no reason

I am thinking about putting a case together as I was informed I could use the Google platform and others for marketing of my dropshioping store. Upon further work, tome, and money this is not the case. Google does not even support the platform unless you are selling your own product.

I too was a victim of this. Created a store 3 weeks ago, only to have it taken down less than 1 week in of paying for the basic plan. Fine enough if they deem the items I am selling (crystals) are prohibited or even if they wish to take down the main website, but to lock us shop owners out of our own admin panel without the access to orders or information is just wrong.

I waited about 10 days for them to get back to me, with the reply that “we are unable to disclose our investigation findings due to confidentiality”. There wasn’t a hint or explanation of what triggered the store to be taken down, and its upsetting seeing many more victims who are losing orders / money because they are unable to fulfill orders which are locked away by Shopify.

Really hoping something can be done to rectify this problem, and hoping you guys get your hard-earned money back.

I had my payments go to 2 different accounts that were not mine. They never told me , they never sent me a notification. Only when they finally asked me to confirm my banking that I questioned this and realized $60,000 was missing from my payouts. Their response , “sorry you are responsable for your own security , we cannot give you your money back “

Hi. Has this class action lawsuit been filed yet?

Hi, has this gone anywhere yet or progressed?

This has also happened to us, with no communication at all, and no way for us to refund our customers.

Our customers never signed or read information stating their money could be held for up to 90 days, and now Shopify has removed the option to refund.

In my opinion, there are some serious financial crimes being perpetrated by this company.

I had the same problem with my store Rocket Leather except that they stole my domain name. See below one of many emails I received from Freya in their risk management department:

They just deleted my store and kept over five thousand dollars with no notice and no responses to countless emails.
