I’m looking to make a banner fully clickable so it links to a collection page in Shopify — but I want to do it in a way that doesn’t impact performance (no heavy scripts or unnecessary apps).

The solution would depend on what theme you have and what section you’re using for your banner.
There are literally dozens of threads on “how to make entire banner/image” clickable, try searching first.
Usually, section allows for a button on your banner – would you want to keep it visible when making enire banner clickable, or prefer to hide?
If you are using the Dawn theme or a similar one, for example, Sense, Refresh…then you can refer to this post here to do that
