Close button stay in same position when closing

I have a form, and when closing it with the close button, the page goes back up to the top. I do not want to go back to the top when closing. Want the page to stay where it was. I’ve tried a few ways but it does not work. The codes below do not work as they should. Besides the non-working code as shown below, what other ways are there that would work?

I assume you have 2 of,

×

for the contact pop up and the shipping pop up.

Just replace both with (Yes, adding “a” after # works. Just make sure it’s a non existent ID)
