I have used Shopify Collabs successfully so far, but I have a question on working with international creators.
We’re a US-based company and we have only worked with US creators so far. We are interested in working with a Canadian creator, but I was wondering if they would be on the hook to pay VAT or import duties on any gifted promo items sent to them? It would be sent as a ‘gift’ through the Shopify Collabs platform. I’d like to know before the proceeding with the collab to avoid any issues that may arise.
We currently ship with Shopify’s fulfillment system, which does not support prepaid duties.
Any experience you all have with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
