I have 2 seperate collections that I have added to the main menu.
I have made sure these are linked in the main menu to the correct collection, and triple checked this.
On the collections page where you can make edits, everything looks perfect. The individual collection banners look good, the individual collection descriptions look good.
When I go to the live site, both of these collections are showing up as the same page. I have a “Treat Menu” and a “Bakery Menu” showing in the main menu, but on the live site when you click between the 2 pages, they are both showing up as the Treat Menu.
I have added different products to these pages but they are still listed as drafts as we haven’t launched yet.
What am I doing wrong?
I don’t remember Shopify ever been this fiddly to use!? (It’s been about 4 years). This is the most simple site I am building but it’s taking me hours upon hours and I have stumbled across so many little glitches that I have to work around.
I’ve left the two collection pages live so you can hopefully see what I mean. On the navigation page where you edit, they look like 2 separate collections.
Everything is fine, just that you have added pages on collection template which is giving you impression that wrong collection is coming, just scroll down below and you will see the collection display is correct.
Maybe you are using a OS2.0 theme which has section anywhere and you have assigned a custom section at top with content, since it is at the template level you have the same settings, if you need them differently you may need to create an alternate collection template
Thank you, yes I am using an OS2.0 theme.
I am still no wiser on how to fix the issue though, sorry I am not sure on your explanation of how to fix it. Would a non 2.0 theme be easier to use?
When you go to the collection template, just hide the top 2 sections which you see on this template from left side, as you would do on homepage clicking the “eye” icon
