I have been trying to do some bulk editing but its adding columns and causing server errors when i try to keep closing them.
As usual I select the columns i wish to see/edit and begin the editing process however after a few seconds the ‘Product Category’ and ‘Category Metafields’ columns just added themselves to the page, so I turn them off and within a minute it automatically added them right back… they will not stay gone…
Anyone else having this issue?

Yes, this is unbearable. Any solutions? It’s really slowing me down.

I have had a rather long conversation with Shopify Support, and this is their last communication with me:
"Hi ReneeBean,
I’m a Support Specialist from Shopify Technical Merchant Support. Our team reached out to us about an issue you were experiencing when attempting to edit products in your store admin using the Bulk Editor, leading to a “server error” popup message.
Checking on this further, I was able to replicate the issue from my side, and have since reached out to our development team on your behalf. They will be investigating the backend of our system to identify the root cause of the “server error” message in the Bulk Editor dashboard. Once they have identified the cause, they will then be able to deploy a fix so that this does not reoccur again for your store going forward.
Due to the nature of their investigation, we do not currently have a timeframe for when this fix will be deployed, but rest assured that we will update you on this email thread as soon as we have additional information available."
For now, I have no choice but to ignore the columns when they appear automatically, even though it is very frustrating.
I will update here as soon as there is any change in the situation for me.
Yeah this is very frusting. A checkbox or query param like autoload_categories=false would be very helpful
