Combining Delivery Scheduler and Subscription Apps

Hi. This is a tough one!

I am a local delivery only subscription based business. As an extra complication, I also require customers to be able to schedule in a time and date for delivery of their subscription. I use two awesome apps:

  • Zapiet Store Pick Up and Delivery - this allows me to restrict where I deliver to by postcode and allows my customers to slot a delivery day and time window

  • Appstle Subscriptions - this allows customers to set up their 1 week, 2 week or 3 week subscription plan. Note: my products are subscription only!

For the first order, this works perfectly, because Zapiet works off the Shopify cart! Zapiet also captures and interfaces the date and time window as ‘tags’ back into Shopify orders, allowing me to sort and fulfil based on sorting these tags.

However for all subsequent subscription orders triggered by Appstle, they bypass the shopify cart therefore there is NO trigger or ability for the customer to select a delivery window slot.

Instead, when the customer looks into the customer portal, they are only able to select a new delivery date and no time windows appear:

What I am looking for is a solution to allow customers to select a delivery date and time window from their Appstle enabled customer portal, that then interfaces back into the Shopify order database (as tags).

Screenshot below shows how the difference between a first order that has the Zapiet delivery window tags, and the recurring Appstle subscription orders, that don’t:

Hi Ben. Thanks for reaching out. I unfortunately did not find a solution. I even contracted a shopify expert and the only way to do this is to build customised functionality at this stage. So I am using a workaround instead for now. That said Appstle continues to build out their app and is super open to collaboration work. I think this will happen, but just doesn’t exist right now.

Hey there, we’re facing the exact same issue, and by now what we’re doing is manually update the tags with the new delivery date for the orders. We have a weekly meal plan store, so our clients choose their products and make a weekly subscription with a desired delivery date/time for the first order, and the following ones we need the date/time to update +1 week, but Appstle and Zapiet haven’t still released this function.

We’re also looking for other apps or solutions that could help on this, becase we’re also having some other issues, as in our store we sell both, plans and one time only items, and Appstle displays a cart for the subscription items in the Build-a-box function that affects the shopify cart… so this is causing many abandoned carts.
