Combining discounts is not the same as stacking discounts to shopify. Am i wrong?

Hello,

I am currently trying to stack discounts on top of one another. I have automatic discounts that get applied depending on how many items a person purchases, and i also have a 10% product code discount that is given to new email subscribers.

They are all set to combine. Yet, when i go to checkout to see if it work and i apply the 10% code, it removes the automatic discount and applies the 10% because the 10% discount code is a larger discount. This is not stacking.

Shopify pretends like they actually did something by coming out with “combining discounts,” yet they did nothing other then add a useless feature which doesnt do what people are massively requesting, which is stacking.

The combining feature states: “if an item is eligible for multiple discounts, only the largest discounts with apply”

Then what is the actual point of this feature? Kicking the can down the road it seems. This has been being requested since 2017 it seems. You still havent added a feature to stack the discounts. You need to spend 25 a month on an app to do it.

Completely ridiculous if you ask me.

So I was digging around after I saw your post and it looks like you can stack, as long as the codes apply to different products / collections:

I guess what you need is to be able to stack, in the above example, the TEN and TWENTY on the same product and give the customer a 30% discount? Looks like Shopify discounts cannot be set up that way.

My products are from different collections and they still wont stack. Theyre both xy discounts. It says in checkout that they’re both there, but only the largest is actually applying. I sat on chat for an hour and they still had no answer, just told me someone would email me at some point which doesn’t help when the discount is going on now for the next few days.

Hi @simplisticsens , just curious if you were ever able to solve this issue?
