Combining gamification urgency automation and social proof into one Shopify tool

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring an idea for a Shopify app that combines several e-commerce tactics (inspired by platforms like Temu.com) into one cohesive, revenue-boosting tool, where features are logically connected to guide customers toward faster and higher-value purchases.

Here’s an example of how it could work:

  • Gamification + Conditional Urgency: a spin-to-win popup gives a discount or freebie, but the timer (e.g., 5 minutes) activates immediately, and the customer must buy for more than $XX to claim the item for free.

  • Marketing Automation: if the customer doesn’t complete the purchase in time, follow-up emails or push notifications immediately nudge them to finish buying.

  • Social Proof (customer-focused): live purchase feeds and product badges reinforce popularity, encouraging urgency and trust while the timer is running.

All features would be designed to work together, not just separate apps on the store, with the goal to increase conversion rate, average order value, and repeat engagement.

I’d love your feedback on:

  1. Who would use this app, and why?

  2. Who might not use this app, and why?

  3. What use cases can you imagine for a tool like this?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Cheers

Nemanja J.

Hey Nemanja J.

Your app idea is great. But the features that you explained as per the reference site Temu, there are numbers of Shopify apps available that do the same stuff. Some one links shared below.

Your app idea work only if you provide all these services within one app.

I hope my suggestion helps you. If this was helpful kindly like it and Mark as Solution. So that others can find it.

Thanks

Hi!
Happy to hear about new actors in gamification.
We at Claspo are developing ecommerce on-site games (behind a spin the wheel). You can inspire your development by researching what we did about that topic - on-site Gamification

Actually, what we see about use cases:

  1. Growing a mailing list is the most popular use case. Luck and chance games.
  2. Increase sales (instant win popups without email gate) are less popular. I believe it’s a tactic that requires the education of customers.
  3. Increase retention (games like - Advent calendar, Streaks & Check-ins, etc)
  4. Quizzes

The competitors you should watch:

  1. Claspo
  2. Optimonk
  3. Wisepops
