Hi,
It’s come to light that competitors have been placing orders on our Shopify store to track our order volume in recent months.
As Shopify order numbers are sequential is there anything I can do to change this? I know I can update the prefix to an order number but I’d have to do this manually and we do like having our orders listed sequentially.

This is so unfortunate and I’m very sorry to hear this is happening to you. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the order number but you could technically create a bunch of fake orders and make orders for yourself to throw them off? If you made draft orders, you can customize the price so that you can make the product price a penny and also require no shipping etc. I know this isn’t the perfect fix, but at least it gives your competitor less insight into how you are doing.
