Confusion setting up email accounts

My apologies for the 1st grade question…

I have searched the internet, watched youtube videos and downloaded a shopify email app. The more I research, the more I am unsure of what to do.

Our store needs:

ONE info@xxxxxxxx.com email address.

ONE johndoe@xxxxxxxx.com email address.

We will send, at most, one email blast per month.

We need there to be semi-guarantee that our emails do not end up in customer “spam” folders.

Is the Shopify email app all we need? Or are there reasons (unknown to us) to consider one of the many alternate options?

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like you need some important and fundamental information. The Shopify email app is NOT an email account. It’s a marketing tool to send emails from your email through Shopify’s server to the customer.

You want info and johndoe, you need to set those up with your email provider. Which provider you choose, that’s up to you. Best practice is to bundle with domain. So the email is info@YourDomain.com and that service is where your marketing emails will be from. Lots of companies. GoDaddy being the biggest.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Was uncertain if Shopify had an email service that I could then link to the Shopify app. Apparently not.

Other than GoDaddy, do we have any other options that we can recommend or have used successfully for their .com? Must be simple, and secure.

Neo?

Zoho?

Proton?

Other?

Thank you again.

Ionos has been growing in popularity lately.
