I bought a domain on Shopify today and I was expecting for it to automatically connect with my Shopify website. After customizing and revising my website I am ready to launch with my domain name but it has the Myshopify.com in the URL and I want to get rid of it. I am stressed and don’t know to to have my official domain as part of the site. Everywhere I go it says error and won’t let my have my official domain that I paid for.
Hello,
Please follow the below official intructions to get your domain connected to your store which you have purchased one. Still issue you can mention here we can surely help you out.
*Steps to be follwed by you:*1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
-
Click Connect existing domain.
-
Enter your domain, such as johns-apparel.info, and then click Next.
-
Click Connect automatically.
-
If necessary, log in to your Google Domains, GoDaddy, or 1&1 IONOS account.
-
Click Connect, and then click Close.
It might take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified. After it’s verified, your domain is listed in the THIRD-PARTY DOMAINS section of the Domains page with the status Connected.
If you have trouble setting up your domain automatically, then try to connect it manually from within your third-party domain provider account.
Thanks
Hi there @gfermin8858 !
I can definitely understand how important it is to have your custom domain, so lets work through this together.
You said “Everywhere I go it says error and won’t let my have my official domain that I paid for” - can you tell me exactly where you are trying to go when you see this error? can you send me a screenshot of what this error looks like please? Are you able to share with me the custom domain name you purchased?
