Connect Sidekick to Shopify Status in real-time

When there is an active incident on Shopify’s side (e.g., analytics delays, API issues), Sidekick currently has no awareness of it. This leads to a poor experience where merchants and Sidekick spend time diagnosing what appears to be a data or configuration issue — when in reality it’s a known platform incident.

Real example: Today (April 24, 2026), analytics reported 19 orders while the Orders section showed 76. Sidekick and I spent several minutes investigating channels, timezones, and ShopifyQL table limitations — before I manually checked shopifystatus.com and found an active incident stating “Reports and analytics may be delayed in reporting accurate figures for some stores.”

Feature request:

  • Connect Sidekick to the Shopify Status feed in real-time

  • When Sidekick detects anomalies in analytics data, automatically cross-check against active incidents

  • If an active incident is relevant, surface it immediately as the first possible explanation

This would save merchants significant time and reduce unnecessary troubleshooting during platform incidents.
