Connected a new domain and now it shows - This site can’t be reached

Hi There,

We just connected a new domain and it shows - This site can’t be reached. Here is the domain http://www.purogenic.shop/

Thank you

Hi there, @annakouzy .

Welcome to the Shopify Community and thanks for sharing your question here!

I understand that you’ve connected your new domain to Shopify and are receiving the error message This site can’t be reached.

It looks as though the issue has since been resolved as I was able to successfully navigate to your storefront. However, I would like to share a few possible reasons why the error message was populating earlier.

If the domain was purchased through Shopify, you may need to verify the domain. This can be done directly within your Shopify admin, Settings > Domain section. You’ll need to select the domain, a yellow banner should appear with the option to click resend verification email.

A second reason could be if the domain is purchased through a third-party host. You’ll need to login to your third-party domain provider and ensure the DNS records match the following:

  • A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
  • Delete any other A records if present on the domain
  • Point the CNAME record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com.
For more information on adjusting your DNS settings and connecting your domain, take a look at our help center resource.

I had a chance to browse your storefront and you’ve done a great job of showcasing clear and concise images of your product, making it easy to navigate for users and clearly displaying your brand’s approach and mission.

I noticed you have your brand Instagram linked in the footer section of your store. Have you also thought about advertising on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest? If you haven’t already, we’ve got you covered. On our Shopify Blog, we’ve shared 7 Easy Steps to Create a Social Media Marketing Strategy.

I hope this helps and keep up the great work!
