Connecting shopify to google merchant center subaccount

Topic summary

A user is trying to connect multiple Google Merchant Center (GMC) subaccounts—each targeting different markets—to Shopify using the Google & YouTube app. The app only displays options to create new standard GMC accounts, not existing subaccounts.

Proposed Solutions:

  • Workaround: Assign a unique email address to each GMC subaccount (via Settings > Access and Services), then link each email separately within Shopify to connect to the specific subaccount.
  • Alternative app: Use third-party apps like Multifeeds that support connecting to any GMC account, whether linked or unlinked.

Current Status:

  • One user confirmed the workaround helped; another reported it didn’t work for them.
  • The discussion remains open with mixed results and clarification being provided on where to add email addresses in GMC settings.

Hi,

I have created several gmc subaccounts each for different market and now want to connect them to shopify through the google & youtube app, but the app doesn’t show them. It only lets me create a new GMC standard account. Anyone know how to do this?

If you have different stores, then for each subaccount in GMC you have created, add a unique email address. Then within Shopify you can link to that new email address and link to the specific sub account.

It’s a bit of a workaround, but that is the only way.

A much better solution is use multifeeds which allows you to connect to any account, linked or unlinked. https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Thanks

This solution didn’t worked for me.

Both solutions work, it’s possible either in option one, something was not setup correctly.

And in option two, this always works. So it’s impossible for it not to work.

And where in the GMC settings would you add that email address to the subaccount?

thx for your hlep
