Contact form simply not showing at all

Topic summary

A Shopify store using Dawn 7.0.1 had a contact form that appeared in the theme customizer but not on the live site after refresh. Dawn is an Online Store 2.0 theme, and the customizer is the preview/editor where changes must be saved.

Guidance shared: use the Online Store 2.0 instructions for adding a contact form to Dawn and confirm changes are saved. If the issue persists, create a support request via the Shopify Help Center for account-specific assistance.

Outcome: the issue was resolved by creating a contact form template and then creating a new page using that template/parameters.

Follow-on topic: the merchant outlined a launch next month for a high-end alternative fashion brand inspired by “seifuku,” with marketing plans including professional photoshoots, collaborations with 3 Instagram influencers (each with several hundred thousand followers), digital art content, and TikTok videos. They requested further marketing tips.

Advice provided: expect iterative testing; target niche audiences (e.g., cosplayers); influencer collaborations are recommended. Resources shared include guides on proven marketing strategies, Shopify Blog and Learn content, and the Shopify Experts directory for hiring a marketing professional.

Status: contact form issue resolved; marketing discussion ongoing with resource recommendations.

Hi,

I’ve been trying to set up the contact us page for my Dawn 7.0.1 website and the contact form template only shows up when I’m on the website customizer and disappears when I refresh the website proper.

I haven’t made the contact form section on my contact us page invisible in the customizer or anything, it simply does not show up.

Would anyone have a clue on how to fix this ?

Thank you !

On the live website, when you go to the contact page, what do you see? Just a white screen?

Hi, @Over_Heavens .

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention.

There are two sets of instructions for adding a contact form, one for our vintage themes and one for our newer Online store 2.0 themes, so you’ll want to follow this set of instructions for adding a contact form to the Dawn theme. On that note, if the contact form isn’t appearing after refreshing your page, then it’s possible that the changes weren’t saved. Can you confirm if this issue persists after clicking save?

If the issue continues to persist after saving the changes, then it looks like we’ll need to access your account in order to resolve the issue. While we’re unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chats or emails. Please visit the Shopify Help Center and login to your account to create a support request.

I noticed that you’re a new member of our Shopify Community! I’d love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Creating a contact form template and creating a new page with it’s parameters did the trick :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for the helpful, detailed and welcoming reply to my problem, I really appreciate it!

I’m planning to use the platform for my upcoming high-end alternative fashion brand. From the designs, patterns, pattern scaling, cutting and confection, everything is made in-house. With our first collection, we’re looking to expand on the Japanese sailor and school uniform ‘‘seifuku’’ aesthetic but with a more ‘‘fashion’’ twist to the silhouettes and premium quality to our garments. We’re currently in the final stages before the launch next month. I’m currently bringing the finishing touches to the website while my associates are taking care of finishing the production for our first batch of garments !

Needless to say I’m very excited to officially launch after two years of constant work, but I am also very anxious marketing-wise at the idea that we might struggle to give our brand and products the required exposure needed for profitability. I’m very confident in our product’s quality and design, but since it’s sorta pricy since it’s higher-end and made locally I’m thinking that I’ll need a solid marketing plan to gain customers.

I’ve already organized a couple professional photoshoots with several local models to generate content for instagram and twitter when it’ll be time to start the marketing campaign just before the launch proper. I’ve also struck collaborations with 3 Instagram female influencers that deal in cosplay/alternative fashion and that each have several hundred thousand followers for exposure and to develop brand ambassador link with them. I am also working with a local artist to produce some digital art piece featuring virtual models to generate further brand content and further establish brand aesthetic. I’m also planning on shooting some tik toks soon to expand on that platform as well since it’s where a lot of our demographic lies.

But despite all this, I still honestly feel pretty insecure about my marketing strategy as a whole and I feel like I’m missing some pieces to really drive home a solid campaign. Maybe it’s because I’ve never done anything like this and I’m just being anxious for nothing, but either way I would really appreciate any supplemental marketing tools and tips you think could be relevant for my situation.

Thank you !

Hey, @Over_Heavens .

Thanks for following up and I’m delighted to hear that you were able to resolve the issue with your contact form!

Marketing your store can be a learning process when you’re just starting out, and it may take several ad campaigns before you start seeing the effectiveness of marketing your store. However, I think your business idea is very unique, and you can probably cater your ads to specific audiences - such as cosplayers and/or social media influencers. Speaking of brand ambassadors, working with social media influencers on Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok is also be a great way to gain exposure for your business so that’s a definitely a strategy that we’d recommend as well.

On that note, if you’d like to learn more about other marketing strategies, then I’d recommend taking a look at the following resources:

That being said, since it’s your first time doing marketing, then you may also feel more comfortable and benefit from hiring a marketing expert for the first few ad campaigns. Should you need help finding a marketing expert, then we’d encourage taking a look at our directory of certified developers on Shopify Experts.

If you have any other questions, then please don’t hesitate to let me know!
