Conversion drop in TikTok Ads Manager after adding another Shopify Web Pixel app

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner installed the Vibe app (a Web Pixel app) alongside the existing TikTok app and noticed a drop in reported conversions in TikTok Ads Manager.

Key details:

  • Both pixels use Shopify’s Web Pixels API and run in isolated sandboxes
  • Each pixel sends events to different destinations (TikTok vs. Vibe)
  • Lighthouse audits show no performance impact
  • No cookie field conflicts detected

Potential causes suggested:

  1. Ad blocking and privacy settings (requires advanced matching or Events API)
  2. Conversion date/timezone configuration issues
  3. Poor ad performance
  4. Known data discrepancies with the official TikTok app

Recommended troubleshooting:

  • Verify sandbox isolation with Vibe’s support team
  • Test TikTok Pixel Helper readings with and without Vibe installed
  • Consider using a specialized TikTok pixel app for more accurate tracking

The issue remains unresolved, with the drop likely unrelated to pixel conflicts but possibly tied to tracking configuration or platform-specific issues.

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a Shopify store where I have the TikTok app installed from the Shopify App Store. Recently, I also added another app that installs a Web Pixel App — the Vibe app.

Since adding the Vibe pixel, I’ve noticed a drop in reported conversions in TikTok Ads Manager

To clarify:

  • The TikTok app pixel only sends events to TikTok.

  • The Vibe pixel only sends events to Vibe (not to TikTok).

  • Both are implemented using Shopify’s Web Pixels API and run in isolated sandboxes.

I also double-checked for potential performance or data conflicts:

  • I ran Lighthouse audits before and after installing the Vibe pixel — there was no performance impact.

  • I verified that both pixels are not writing to the same cookie fields, so there’s no cookie interference either.

My question is:
Could having two Web Pixel apps installed — even when they target different destinations — still affect TikTok event tracking or reporting in any way?

If not, what other factors (like consent handling, event timing, or checkout event configuration) could explain a drop in TikTok conversions after adding a second Web Pixel app?

Thanks a lot for any insights or experiences! :folded_hands:

as such i haven’t used vibe for creating pixels. although, when i checked their app listing page, it didn’t specify if it helps specifically with tiktok ads conversion tracking. i am assuming they help with multiple platforms, and my response is according to that assumption.

as to, “can two pixels affect tracking when they are targeting different destinations”, not necessarily. that’s because each of them should run in their own sandbox environment. but i would still recommend once, confirming the same with vibe’s support team.

you can also run a simple test. check your tiktok pixel helper readings with both web pixels installed, and then again after removing the vibe pixel while keeping only the official tiktok pixel. if any conflicts exist, you’ll notice them there.

but apart from that, in general, you might be noticing a drop in your TikTok conversions because of:

  1. poor performance of ads
  2. ad blocking and privacy settings (for which you need to enable advanced matching, use events api)
  3. conversion date and timezone settings
  4. issues with the official TikTok app (as many other users have reported data discrepancies in the past)

i would say try to look for any of these issues and resolve them.

also, try to go with a specialized tiktok pixel app like ‘tiktok pixels by adnabu.’ specifically helps with tiktok ads conversion tracking for your shopify store, and offers more accurate data reporting. so it reduces the chances of discrepancies.
