I totally get how frustrating it is when your Meta Pixel doesn’t seem to be tracking events, even after connecting everything through the Facebook & Instagram app on Shopify. I’ve run into similar issues before, so I wanted to share a few things that might help.
First, I’d recommend checking if the pixel is actually firing on your site. Even if it’s set up in Shopify, sometimes it doesn’t load properly on the storefront. You can test this using the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension just open your store in a new tab ideally a product page, and see if your Pixel ID shows up and if events like Page View or Add To Cart are triggering. If the tool says No pixel found, then the pixel likely isn’t firing at all.
If that’s the case, it can help to disconnect and reconnect the Facebook & Instagram app inside your Shopify admin. When you reconnect it, make sure you’re selecting the correct Business Manager, Ad Account, and the exact Pixel you want to use. Also double-check that data sharing is turned on I’d recommend using the Maximum setting so you get both browser and server-side tracking.
Another useful trick is to go into Meta Events Manager and use the Test Events tool. Just paste in your store URL there and open it in a new tab. Then browse your site like a customer click on a product, add it to the cart, maybe even go to checkout. If everything is set up correctly, you should see those events show up in real time.
Keep in mind that even if the pixel is firing and you see events in the test tool, it can still take some time sometimes a few hours or more before those events start appearing in Ads Manager. This is especially true if your store is newer or isn’t getting a lot of traffic yet. So don’t worry if things aren’t showing instantly.
If you’ve tried all that and the pixel still isn’t working, it might be worth reaching out to Shopify Support directly so they can take a closer look at your setup. Or feel free to share more info here without any sensitive details and I’ll do my best to help out.
Hope this points you in the right direction I know tracking issues can be a headache, but you’re definitely not alone, and they’re usually fixable once we get to the root of it!
Let me know how it goes!
