Good evening,

@ron10 A 0.02% conversion rate could be concerning! What do you sell? How many sessions do you average in a day? What do you use for tracking analytics (i.e Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar)? If you don’t have GA, you can use Shopify Analytics and query for the most relevant landing pages. Depending on your answers, you may be able to find an answer to what has happened.

Around 5,000 sessions and only one sale usually points to a problem with traffic quality, trust, pricing, product pages, or the checkout journey.

I would check where visitors are dropping off in Shopify Analytics, especially product views, add-to-carts, reached checkout, and completed purchases.

Could you share the store link so people can give you more specific feedback?

@ron10 Thanks for sharing.

(1) The first links in the first section don’t work as expected. I attempted to click on the links, and the browser did not navigate to any location until I clicked the button.

(2) Collection names could be misleading. For example, Xerjoff redirects to the women’s collection. This can cause frustration for visitors.

(3) Depending on where your located and your audience, they may not use the advertised payment method.

Where do you ads point to? Where do people drop off during their sessions? Where are most of your sessions from? It would be nice to have an idea of the overall customer journey before jumping into any more assumptions.

Address shows up as a Staples store on Google Maps. This is a huge red flag that you’re being very dishonest. You obviously do not run your business out of Staples, perhaps you are doing their digital mailbox, but still very misleading. A correct business address is generally preferred, as stated on your website:

**“We purchase inventory through licensed wholesale channels and ship directly to our customers.”**

@ron10 Where do you conduct business transactions? With an inventory, you must have some where you store your inventory.

If you are operating your business out of your home, you should put your home address. If it’s legit, you should have no issues with this. Many companies have started from home. Many still do. It’s really ok.

If you are still not wanting to put the home address for personal reasons, that’s fine, but you need to be upfront about the address you are sharing with the public. For instance, if you got a PO Box, and put that, everyone would know that is generally just a mailing address. But a Staples, someone looks at that and automatically assumes it’s a scam. Consumers generally do not know about virtual addresses and digital mailboxes. How many people are going to see a Staples store as your address and think “yes this is definitely legit”? Simple “Mailing Address” before it usually is enough for most.

My suggestion? Either clarify that it’s a mailing address only or put your actual address.

You are a public business now. You’re not an ebay seller. Hold yourself to a standard that you are proud of, and if in doubt put yourself in the customer’s shoes. Do this for all aspects of your store, not just business contact info.

5,000 sessions and only 1 sale usually means it’s not a traffic problem—it’s a conversion problem.

I’d start by checking:

- Is the traffic coming from the right audience?
- Is your product priced competitively?
- Are your product pages detailed with clear images and descriptions?
- Is your checkout process smooth and trustworthy?
- Are visitors adding items to the cart, or leaving before that?

If you can share your store URL and where your traffic is coming from (Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.), it’ll be easier to identify what’s hurting conversions.

Hello there @ron10
5,000 sessions and one sale typically indicates a conversion problem rather than a traffic problem. Identify at which point in your funel visitors are leaving, ensure your product pages have clear descriptions, pricing, shipping and trust signals such as reviews and policies. Test your checkout on mobile, many buyers do shop there. And double check your traffic sources to ensure you are bringing in people who really want your products. These areas just need little brushing up instead of major overhauls.

With that conversion rate, I’d look at 3 things: product page trust, offer clarity, and traffic intent.

For perfumes, the page has to answer the questions people are already thinking. How it smells, how long it lasts, whether it’s original, what the bottle size is, and how fast it ships.

If that info is buried, a lot of shoppers will bounce before they ever reach checkout. I’d also make sure every product page has real reviews, clear shipping/returns, and a very obvious price + size above the fold.

The other big one is ad-to-page match. If your Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest ads are broad, but the landing page feels generic, you’ll get sessions without buying intent. Send each ad to the exact perfume or collection it’s promoting, not the homepage. Use consistent language and visuals as well.

Full disclosure, I built [Carti](https://apps.shopify.com/hey-carti) because I kept running into the same conversion gaps on my own brands. It’s designed to give every shopper personalized service, with instant Q&A, product recommendations, and even sales training (for shoppers who are on the fence). I think it could be a big help for stores like yours, plus it’s totally free at your size.

Hi @ron10 🙌

Sorry to hear that. Getting traffic but almost no sales can be really frustrating, but it usually means people are interested enough to visit—they’re just not convinced to buy yet.

Without seeing your store, it’s hard to pinpoint the exact reason. If you can share your website, you’ll probably get much more useful feedback from the community.

A few things I’d look at first are whether your product pages clearly explain why someone should choose your product, whether your store has enough trust signals (reviews, shipping & return policies, contact information, etc.), and whether the traffic you’re getting actually matches your target audience.

Another thing worth considering is giving customers a little more reason to purchase. Simple additions like gift wrapping, product add-ons, or bundle offers can sometimes increase both conversions and average order value, especially if they fit your products naturally. We’ve seen quite a few merchants implement these kinds of options using [Easify Custom Product Options](https://apps.shopify.com/easify-product-options?utm_source=shopify+community&utm_medium=replies) without needing to customize their theme.

If you can share your store URL, I’d be happy to take a look and offer more specific suggestions.❤

</div>

5,000 sessions with only 1 sale usually means there’s a conversion issue rather than a traffic issue.

I’d start by looking at a few key areas:

- Is your traffic coming from the right audience, or are visitors who were never likely to buy landing on your store?
- How fast does your store load, especially on mobile?
- Are your product pages building enough trust with reviews, clear descriptions, and high-quality images?
- Is your pricing competitive, including shipping costs?
- Have you checked whether people are adding products to the cart but dropping off at checkout?

I’d recommend looking at your Shopify funnel (Sessions → Product Views → Add to Cart → Checkout → Purchase). That will quickly show where you’re losing customers.

If you’re comfortable sharing your store URL, I’d be happy to review it and point out anything that might be hurting conversions.

</div>

Ouch, 5k sessions and just 1 sale is painful. Everyone’s advice here is spot on, but you really gotta post the store link @ron10! It’s impossible to tell if it’s a price issue, slow mobile loading, or just a broken checkout without seeing it

</div>

With that much traffic, I’d fix the trust and navigation issues before putting more money into ads. After that, I’d also look at whether a first-time shopper can confidently work out which fragrance from the range is actually right for them.
