Copy and paste fields to the product bulk editor

Hi,

I’m looking for a way to copy and paste multiple values from a spreadsheet into the fields of the product bulk editor. For example, if I have ten values I copy from my spreadsheet and paste them into the ten open fields of the bulk editor, it puts all ten values into all ten cells. I want it to copy and paste like from one spreadsheet to another.

Any ideas?

Probably better/easier to do an export of the products in question, then open that file in Google Sheets (Excel can introduce some issues, so whilst you can use it, best avoided for this), paste the data you want into the right fields and then import the Google Sheets file back into Shopify.

Take a look at Mixtable. Mixtable is essentially Google Sheets, but with all Excel-style formulas and behavior. And it seamlessly syncs to and from Shopify. You can easily paste your data as described in order to bulk edit your Shopify store’s data.

Hey guys I am having the same issue.

I am selling prints (over 80 prints available) and each of them have 97 variants (same for all products). I have allocated weights (to calculate shipping accordingly) to each variant of my first product. It took me a little while as there were 97 variants.

I’d like to copy and paste these 97 weights to all my products to save me hours and hours of manually doing 97 variants x 80+ products. HEEEELP!

It’s easy to do, but you have to focus so the cursor is blinking in the last selected cell.

Go to the cell to start with. Hold Shift and Down (or up, depending on the direction to input) to select the cells. While it’s selected, click into the last cell and paste the value. Everything above it will change.

Also, if it’s a dropdown selection (like Standardized Product Type), make sure to click the dropdown selected in your focused cell to make sure it gets applied to everything. Typing it in and not selecting anything will not save anything into the cell.

When I do this, I get the same data in all the cells (and not unique values in each cells which is what I am trying to paste). Could you explain a bit more?

Anyone have a solution to this? As the solutions below don’t work for me

I have tried the following and it worked. To implement this solution, you can follow these steps:

  1. Add the value in the first cell.
  2. Hold the Shift key and click on Down Arrow to select all the cells till the end.
  3. Then press Shift + Enter.
    Your task should be completed in just a few seconds. I hope this helps!

This only copies the exact same value across all the cells. Can you please record a video of what you mean? We need to be able to copy multiple cells in a column, each with individual values, into multiple cells in Shopifys bulk editor.

that would be very useful if we could copy and paste multiple cell from an excel sheet. I’m talking about different values. Copy the same values everywhere already works.
