I created a onetime product for a customer in Mexico (I’m in the USA) but I mistakenly entered it as pounds but it should have been ounces.
The total weight should have been 30 ounces, but he was billed for 30 pounds.
I have not shipped it yet because he is paying way too much for shipping. I want to correctly charge him and fix this.
How do I do this?
Hi there, @Jimbo4 . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community with your question about this order and transaction! My name is Imogen. It’s good to meet you!
My first thought here would be to refund the order. Then, once you’ve done that, you can create a new draft order for them. You can re-create the product in the admin (with the correct weight this time) and add it to the draft order. Then, you can use whatever shipping rate you would like for the order, such as one that would have been provided as if the product were only 30 oz, or you can add a custom shipping rate. Once you have the order created, you can invoice the customer via email the cost of the order and shipping. Once you’ve collected payment, then you’re good to go with fuilfilling their order!
Let me know if you have any questions about this process!
The problem with a refund is that it costs me money!
