Cost per item field - Is it best practice to be exclusive of GST (Sales Tax)

General question, how do you map your Cost per item field in Shopify?

GST (Sales Tax) inclusive or exclusive, and why?

Generally, sales taxes collected from your customers are excluded from cost per item since you are just collecting this for the government.
