Following on from some of my previous posts…
I currently have the Dawn theme installed and don’t like the default behavious for the product photos whereby the user clicks the image and the browser zooms in to like x5000 (or whatever). I’ve turned the zoom function off using some CSS code I found in a You Tube tutorial.
In most on-line shops I’ve used, there are usually several product photos - a main one at a fairly large size (but not zoomed) and several smaller ones. Usual behaviour is that you click on one of the smaller ones and it switches place with the default “main” product photograph (also increasing in size to match the original main product photo). I’m sure you all know what I mean as this seems pretty ubiquitous for eCommerce sites.
However, Dawn doesn’t have this feature built in (or if it does, I don’t know how to activate it). Now that I’ve switched the zoom feature off, clicking on any of the pictures doesn’t do anything. I’ve been told the behaviour I want has to be programmed into my site. So my questions are:
-
If this can be added, would it be possible to add it for all future products as well? All my current products are based on the default template, I would want all future products to also have the same clickable image behaviour.
-
How do I go about getting the work done? Are there approved Shopify developers? Are they on this site, how do I find someone trustworthy?
-
Any idea how much it would cost? In my mind it’s probably fairly simple for a good coder but I have no idea what the associated costs would be like.
Thanks in advance! ![]()
