I’m using the default Craft theme, and on each Product page, underneath my description, there is a drop down for Dimensions, Materials and Care Instructions. Example here:
I’d actually love to use these - but I’m lost where I edit them - each product has different dimensions and materials, so this would be a useful spot for me to use.
But, where are they? Where can I edit them on each product?
In order to add different Dimensions, Materials and Care Instructions for each product, you first need to create metafield and then connect it with your theme setting to display metafield on your product pages:
Create Metafield by going to Setting > Metafields > Products >Add definition > fill out the required info.
Go to Products > Within each product page, scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see the metafield you’ve created before, then fill out the specific content for each.
Navigate to Online Store > Theme > Customize
Select Products then Default Product from the page selector at the top
Within the sidebar menu, click on the Materials section > Row content > click on the Insert Dynamic Source as the photo attached below > Select the associated metafiled
After completing this step, you then need to fill in the details in the fields in each product. Open the product, scroll down and you will see the fields at the bottom. You could also export the product list, complete a bulk update to the fields and then import to update the products in bulk rather than updating each one individually through the user interface in Shopify
I wonder if this solution actually worked for you? It didn’t for me, so I contacted customer support. After an extremely lengthy chat, they determined that the Dimensions feature doesn’t actually work and said I should remove that metafield. I had a look at your site (gorgeous cutting boards, by the way!) and see that you are using the Dimensions option, so I wonder how you go it to work?
I originally created a Dimensions field but it did not show up in my Theme settings. So then I created a new metafield called “Dimensions Text” and added that into the Craft Theme settings instead (a couple of screenshots attached below). Best of luck! Divine
