Create a Pallet Calculator for mixing products, requiring a minimum 95% fill to enable checkout

Topic summary

A merchant wants to implement a pallet calculator on their Shopify store that allows customers to mix products and only checkout when the pallet reaches 95-100% capacity. They’ve provided a screenshot example from another website showing the desired functionality.

Possible Solutions:

  • Theme customization (advanced)
  • Shopify apps (order form, bundles, or B2B apps)
  • Custom development

Key Challenges:

  • The pallet fill logic (95-100% requirement) adds complexity
  • Custom table UI may be needed
  • Most solutions would require either deep app configuration or bespoke development

Status: The discussion remains open with no definitive app recommendation yet. One responder offered to investigate if the competitor site uses an existing app (if provided via DM) and is available for custom development if the merchant has budget for a tailored solution.

Hi,

I’d like to add a pallet calculator to my website, allowing customers to select a mix of products but only proceed to checkout when the pallet is at least 95% full and a cap on 100%. While I can create this easily in Excel, having it directly on the website would be much more efficient.

I’ve attached a screenshot below from a website with a similar feature and was wondering if there’s an existing Shopify app that can provide this functionality? Thank you!

Hi @CrystalMailing :waving_hand: Your looking for either a theme customization ; or apps.

If the competitor is on shopify and you can DM send me a link and I can see if it’s fully bespoke or an off the shelf app.

Advanced theme customizations can achieve what’s in the screenshot without apps.

If there’s no price interactions and it’s literally an order form to make a cart.

For apps start with order form / bundles apps basically, but also B2B apps .

The pallet logic is a complication that can make it mean your looking for a unicorn.

So any app would need an api and stylabe , for the frontend mainly, and or incredibly deep configuration logic capability.

And that’s even before considering a custom table UI like that.

Stuff like that is pretty bespoke per merchant, so you may have to build it
