I am in the process of migrating my store from Squarespace to Shopify and currently I have an option on my squarespace site for a customer to select 5 different soaps from our full range of 9 soaps
When the customer adds to cart they are presented with a pop up box to select the range of soaps they would like and I am strugling to find a way of doing this in Shopify, are there any suggestions?
To create a product like “Pick 5 Soaps – Create Your Custom Bundle,” all 9 soap varieties can be displayed in a single grid section. Each item will have quantity +/- buttons, allowing customers to freely choose their preferred scents until they reach a total of 5 selections. After that, simply go to Required Selections and set the condition to Quantity is equal to 5. This ensures customers must select exactly 5 bars before they can add the bundle to the cart. The interface will display the selected items in the right-hand sidebar, allowing customers to review their choices before clicking Add to cart.
To apply a fixed bundle price for the 5 bars (for example, a discounted price instead of calculating 5 × $4.99), simply configure it in Discount & Subscription to set the price when the customer selects all 5 items.

It sounds like the key thing you need is to recreate that Squarespace “pick any 5 from 9” bundle flow on Shopify, without ending up with a clunky product form.
If you’re currently thinking in terms of 5 separate dropdowns, that usually works technically, but it’s not the nicest customer experience for a soap bundle like this.
A more ideal approach is to show the 9 soaps as selectable cards and let the customer add any combination of soaps until they reach a total of 5.
This tends to feel much more natural than 5 separate dropdowns.
This approach can also let you expose more product information for each option - like scent notes for each soap etc.

Hi Julie, you can duplicate this on Shopify using either a product bundle app or line item properties. A simple way to do that is to create a “Soap Bundle” item and have customers pick 5 soaps out of 9 using line-item properties. This picks up their choices at add-to-cart without having to use a separate app.
