Creating a manual order without tax (UK to EU shipment)

Hello,

I am based in the UK and creating a manual order for a customer in the EU (Holland). I’m having a problem removing VAT.

Let’s say the product price is £100.

What I want to be able to do is remove the VAT, so this product should show as £83.33 on the invoice. However, if I click the box to not charge taxes but it just shows the product as £100. If I then click the box to charge taxes it is still £100 to the customer, but it shows the VAT [email removed] 20%) at £16.66 and the product at £83.33.

I cannot see how to configure it so it only charges the customer £83.33.

In my actual example the total is £649.80 but the price to the customer without VAT should be showing as £541.45.

Thank you.

VAT is a value added tax. It will apply automatically to your products if you enabled VAT. The only way I can see is turn off your VAT (if you haven’t met the threshold) or give a custom discount so you charge the right price as you want.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I know what VAT is and yes I meet the threshold.

If ‘turning off VAT’ is a solution, then it shows another of the limitations of Shopify.

To be clear: if I create this manual order for a product that costs £100 in the UK (£83.33 + £16.66 VAT) then whether I turn VAT on or off, the EU customer is going to be faced with a card payment of £100.
