When in the navigation menu and adding nested menus to normal menus, the entire menu gets removed.
This is what the website looks like previous to adding a nested item.
After adding a nested item like so to the main menu, the picture below shows what happens to my site.
After adding the nested item, the entire dropdown menu gets removed and those pages are no longer visible under the dropdown.

I believe this site was custom-made and imported into Shopify, would that be the problem?

Its not a problem but you dont have documentation to do it yourself. You will need a Shopify dev to look into this and fix it.
You will need someone to look into your website and analyze the problem.
Would changing the theme to a Shopify template resolve the problem?
