Our company makes gift baskets all year round, especially during the holiday season and I wanted to expand the sale of them online. Is there a way to make an item that is customizable and pulls inventory from other places. For example I would like the item to say Small Basket and have the ability to choose from a list of sauces, pick three and when the order is placed the selected sauces would have their inventory count reduced by one.
Does anyone know an app that could create this? Or even a creative workaround using bundles or something similar?

This sounds like the native Shopify bundle app that you can use to have a parent product made up of many input products and the variants. Try out native bundles app on Shopify. When the order is placed Shopify will provide each of the component parts to assemble and ship so you can keep accurate inventory across the customizable bundle.
