Creating new Payments App

We want to develop our own Shopify Payments app. Having gone through the documentation, have below queries:

It will be nice if someone could help us their experience or Shopify team members can help us on this

  1. We need to register as Payments Partner
  • Timeline for getting it approved?
  • If the payments partner doesn’t support “authorization” and supports only “sale”, will the app get rejected?

  1. Overall timeline of app getting approved after submission?

  2. Is it better to built inhouse or hire a 3rd party team to get the app developed.

  • We don’t have Shopify app experts inhouse but have quality engineers!
