I use Shopify Payments and sell in Norway.

For some reason about 50-60% of my customers cards get rejected.

It has been customers that been purchasing from me earlier with success and new customers aswell that have used their card on other online stores without any issue.

Do anyone know the reason & solution to this?

I think I have the same issue. Last week credit card payment worked for my customers. Now when someone tries to use credit card it gets rejected. Tried to order with my own card, same issue! Order was from/for Norway.

Yep, super annoying. Missing out on alot of revenue due to this bleep

Did you get a resolution to this or work out why its happening? We are seeing similar problems with one of our clients.

In the transaction logs of my Shopify it says for these customers “Your credit card does not support this type of purchase.”

I don’t have an “official” answer but as far as I can tell a lot of credit cards issued in Norway are basically only for in country use and are not “unlocked” for international transactions. The customer would have to check with his bank to make sure his credit card is accepted internationally. PayPal isn’t an alternative either because apparently PayPal isn’t really supported and a thing in Norway sooo…this creates a new issue as well.
