Crunchy Image Quality -- Refresh Theme, Collection Section

Hi everyone, I am just struggling to get good quality images on my product collection section: www.itsbeamie.com (pw: shopify1234).

Some notes:

  • I’ve played around with image optimization, the original images are 1000x1000 px, 30-40kb each. So I don’t think it’s an image size issue?

  • I notice when I click on the image / link to the PDP then return back to the home page, the image quality improves (image attached for reference below – blue product image looks much more crisp after going to its page and returning) Any idea what’s happening & how to maintain good image quality?

An image size of 30-40kb is quite low when it comes to resolution and image quality, but remember there you need to strike the right balance between image quality and page load times. Slow load times can degrade your site and affect SEO performance.

I have a similar resolution/quality to you, but my images are as large on my pages in my store. E.g - https://peppergray.shop/collections/crop-tees

In regards to your second note, try and download both of the images and see if they are the same size.
