CSV error: Import job already in progress. Please wait until current one is finished

Hi,

I am not aware of any current job running as my previous indicated that it was completed, however the below message followed:

"

As I attempt to upload an inventory file, I received the following

"was an error importing your CSV file. After you fix the error, try importing the CSV file again.

  • Import job already in progress. Please wait until current one is finished."

Is there a way to see the status of a running upload of either product or inventory data to Shopify?

Thank you

Yes, you can view the status of running import or export jobs in Shopify.

To check the status of a running job in Shopify, follow these steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click on “Settings”, then click on “Account”.
  2. Scroll down to the “Data Download” section, and click on “View current job status”.
  3. Here, you’ll see the status of any current or recently completed import or export jobs. The status can be “queued”, “processing”, “succeeded”, or “failed”.
  4. If a job is currently running, you can click on the “View progress” button to see how much of the job has been completed, and how long it is expected to take to finish.
  5. Once the job is completed, you can click on the “Download” button to download a report of the job’s results, if applicable.

If you see the message “Import job already in progress. Please wait until current one is finished.” it means that there is already an active import job in progress. You’ll need to wait until the current job is finished before starting a new one.

If you received a “Daily variant creation limit reached” error message, it means that you have exceeded Shopify’s API call limit for the day. Shopify enforces API call limits to ensure that the platform runs smoothly for all merchants. The limit resets daily, so you can try again tomorrow. In the meantime, you can optimize your CSV file to include only the necessary data and avoid sending duplicate requests.

Hi,

I continue to receive the same message and am fairly certain that I have no items uploading to Shopify.

  1. From your Shopify admin, click on “Settings”, then click on “Account”.

Additionally, I have the basic version of Shopify and have “Checkouts and accounts”, however no specific access to “Account” and thus unable to review the information you suggest. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you Mics!

It’s possible that the message you’re receiving is related to an app or integration that you have installed on your Shopify store, rather than items uploading to Shopify.

To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest checking any installed apps and integrations that you have on your Shopify store. You can do this by going to the “Apps” section in your Shopify admin and reviewing any installed apps or integrations. Check if any of these apps or integrations might be causing the issue.

If you’re unable to locate the source of the issue, I recommend reaching out to Shopify’s support team directly. They will be able to provide more specific guidance based on your account and help you resolve the issue. You can reach out to Shopify support by logging into your Shopify admin and clicking on the “Help” button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. From there, you can access Shopify’s support resources or contact a Shopify support representative directly.
