CSV export too many products

Hi guys!

I have a serious inquiry that I wanted to ask about. We’re a newly launched gymwear brand. And We had a pre order phase, now it’s time to export the orders so we can start with fulfillment and also send our manufacturer the list with what needs to be produced.

But when I export all the pending orders, as a CSV, I see more than just the ordered pieces. I also see pieces that were for example changed due to a user mistake.

Example: The customer ordered grey, and we manually changed it to brown, cause it’s what the customer actually wanted.

In the CSV, we will then see 2 products from that customer, even thought the customer just ordered one. And the other one is what we changed.

Which is now super confusing because it gives us more product than what we ordered.

Is there no way to actually really just export the right orders and only the pieces that actually need to be shipped?

Cause this is a very annoying situation and we have to check too many things manually in the future as well.

Hope you have a solution to this issue, thank you so much already!

Try use Matrixify to export the orders instead of shopify export.

Hi @mfozing ! Thank you @Tal19 for the mention! @mfozing , have I understood correctly that the aim would be to not Export a removed item? If so, then this would not be directly possible as Shopify does not allow apps to see if an item has been removed or not. This means that there is nothing to tell apps that an item has been removed, therefore all items would be Exported. The Shopify native Export also works in the same way.

You could look into adding a Note to the Orders for example with the item that has been removed. This would then allow you to know that an item has been removed from an Order in the Exported file. This is not by any means a perfect solution, but it is a workaround for sure!
