Currency at Checkout

Hello community

I host an Australian E-com store our main currency set in AUD in settings. We have a market set up for the USA and have selected USD currency for that market. We have been advised by our USA custmers that the pricing on the website and cart is showing in USD but it changes to AUD at the checout page (and auto adjusts the amount based on the foreign exchange rate). Does anyone know what is causing this and how we can show the checkout page in USD for that market?

Thanks

Are you using Shopify Payments? This is usually needed in order for the customer to checkout in their currency.

Shopify Payments - Accept Credit Card Payments with Shopify

Yep, this is our settings:

Do you use a third party currency converter app?

No third party currency app

Hey @JoelRidge,

The Payment settings are looking good, can you please check your market settings? Follow the steps below.

  • Go to Settings → Markets → [Your US Market]

  • Check Products and pricing section

  • Make sure “Show prices to customers in their local currency” is enable.

As you are using Shopify Payments you should be able to show Market specific currency to your users easily.

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Shreya

Thanks Shreya, Yep we have it set to local currency. All the settings look good but for some reason it reverts to AUD at checkout for USA customers.

Stripe works, also supports many different payment methods.
