Hi,
We are the developers of a Shopify app called Dual Price Display, which helps merchants display both tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive prices for their products and variants.
Currently, we are facing an issue related to price display for international markets when this feature is enabled, which is affecting the core functionality of our app.
Our app relies on Shopify’s currency formatting option that is configured in the store settings. We ask merchants to add a specific HTML code in the currency formatting to ensure the app works properly for displaying both tax-inclusive and tax-exclusive prices. This approach works well for the default store currency.
However, we have noticed that when Shopify Markets is enabled and the currency is changed using the region selector option provided in the header or footer of the theme, the price changes accordingly, but the custom currency formatting does not seem to apply (as observed during our inspections).
We would appreciate your clarification on the following points:
-
Is Shopify Markets automatically overriding our custom currency formatting for international visitors?
-
If so, how can we ensure that our preferred currency format is preserved or displayed properly?
-
Has anyone else encountered this issue, and what solutions or workarounds have proven effective?
This issue is impacting our ability to display prices accurately for merchants, and we would greatly appreciate your guidance on how best to proceed.
