Custom shipping templates

Can anyone assist with this problem. From my understanding, when a new website is created, all items are placed under General Shipping Rates (at which the current rate is set to FREE) & then you have to make a custom shipping rate to assign particular products into a new shipping zone/rate. I have run into an issue where I have done this, but the products continue to show the FREE shipping offer although it is assigned to the custom template with a fee. When I go to do a test in the checkout window, it still shows the offer of free shipping as offered in General Shipping Rates but it is not assigned any more in this template. On checkout, it also shows the new rates applied under the custom template. How do I remove the FREE shipping offer when it no longer is setup this way?

Can you please provide screenshots of your shipping profiles and an example checkout?

Yes please see attachments. I have tried playing with different options of flat rate & conditional rates, not changing custom shipping title but no success in removing the free option. If I leave the shipping option title the same as another product (eg Express rate is charged at $10.00 with one product, if I assign the same Express rate title to a higher amount on another product, it still picks up the lower cost item).

Hi @RSA15 ,

You see free shipping because the General profile is still applying to that address and zone, so it’s free rate is getting combined with your custom profile rates at checkout. Set the General profile rate for that zone to a non‐zero figure or delete that zone and leave only your custom profile.

Hi SealSubs-Roan,

Thank you for the reply. Replacing my checkout profile address fixed the issue. Unsure why it didn’t affect all the different shipping rates but has fixed the free shipping issue I was experiencing & can now dedicate a specific rate for different products. Much appreciated.
