Custom template in automated emails

Hi everyone,

We have recently been looking into using Shopify Marketing and the Shopify Messaging app for our email marketing and automated abandoned cart or cross-sell emails. We are switching back from Klaviyo since we are not utilizing everything we pay for due to having a small team.

I was testing the automation today but realized there’s no option to use custom email templates I have coded in the Messaging app.

What am I missing here?

There is a whole host of pre-made campaigns, including abandoned cart, abandoned checkout, product teasers, etc.

In order to put the emails in “Your templates”, you need to edit the email and click “Save as template”.

I have already tried that but I’m trying to setup custom coded email as default template.
