Been selling for 5yrs on Shopify and encountered something weird recently.
A customer placed an order on 2/4, total amount charged was $70.12CAD. Today he emails asking why he got charged $422.32 on 2/3. He sent me a screenshot of his statement and it does say my shop’s name beside that charge.
I checked the order history and the amount charged and authorized was in fact just $70.12CAD. However, records from that same order show two denied attempts on 2/3, one was $240.93 and one was $606.87.
The two denied attempts were before the order was even placed. Usually for fraud orders, the order would be placed first then denied attempts would come after, correct?
Any idea what’s up?
