Shortly after a customer made a purchase from us in April 2022 they began receiving recurring charges on another credit card number for $24.82 from a company using our name. The issue is that we DON’T have a subscription service and we DO NOT charge any recurring charges. Not sure why the customer waited this long to contact us, but they did today and we had to give them the bad news that this isn’t us. Of course, we instructed him to contact his bank and report the fraud and to see if they can assist him with getting his funds back. But, I’m just sicked that someone is out there using our name to do this. Our customers trust us.
Did Shopify have a data breach that I missed? No other customers have reported this to us. So it’s kind of a curiosity.
