Customer metafield created using metaobject not visible as a filter in customer segments

Hi,

I have created a customer metafield using a metaobject as a reference. I am able to populate this metafield for each customer as expected and this new metafield is visible under customer metafield definitions.

However, this metafield created using a metaobject is not visible as a filter for making a new customer segment. The whole point of creating this metafield using metaobjects is to use the information to enable granular customer segmentation.

Any help regarding this would be really appreciated.

It’s possible that the metafield you created using a metaobject is not visible as a filter for customer segmentation because the metafield is not configured correctly or is not set up to be used as a filter. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Make sure that the metafield is set up as a searchable field. In order for a metafield to be used as a filter, it must be searchable. You can check this by going to the customer metafield definitions page and verifying that the “searchable” option is enabled for the metafield in question.

  2. Check that the metafield is assigned to the appropriate customer object. Metafields can be assigned to different objects (e.g. products, customers, orders) and it’s possible that the metafield was assigned to the wrong object. Make sure that the metafield is assigned to the “customer” object.

  3. Verify that the metafield is populated with data for all customers. If the metafield is not populated for all customers, it may not show up as a filter option. Make sure that the metafield is populated for all customers by running a query to check for null or missing values.

  4. Ensure that you are using the correct filter option. When creating a customer segment, you may need to select a specific filter option to find the metafield in question. Make sure that you are using the correct filter option and that the metafield is not hidden behind a different filter.
