One of the products in my store is a free sample. I have already limited the quantity so a customer can only add one of these to their cart. What I would also like to do is find a way to block customers from ordering this product again if they have ordered it in the last 6 months. Are there any apps that can do this?

To do that, you can consider using an order limit app, which will help limit the quantity that customers can buy.
You can check out the app Avada Order Limits Quantity here, it does have the option to create limit for product and have settings on Re-purchase action:

This option is available on all plans. However, there will be limit of impressions on the Free plan.
