Customer report for first product purchased and total number of orders for that customer

Hi,

I have had a look through the Shopify reporting tools and I am trying to find out if there is a way that I can find out the first product purchased by a customer and then subsequent purchases made on return visits, this can just be a number, I don’t need to know the products specifically, although that would be very useful if I could.

I cannot find this functionality in Shopify and would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction if I am missing something. Alternatively, I would appreciate suggestions for an app that can provide that kind of data.

So you can isolate the first product bought by each customer using the Sales by Product report. Modify the columns and add Customer Name and Email, then filter to Customer Type = “First Time”.

Once you have this list of customers you can then run a list of Sales by Customer, filter by Customer type = Returning. This will provide a list of all customers that have made more than one purchase. Then you can cross-reference the lists to see who has returned.

Thank you, I really appreciate you replying. I have exported those two reports, so that is good that I am on the right track. I just need to work out a formula now to check for the matches.
