Customers cannot order when shipping origin is a military PO Box

Hello! I got a PO Box on a military base because I’m a military dependent and it was cheaper than the post office off base. I am not overseas, and military base is in North Carolina. I updated my business address and shipping origins to reflect the PO Box. When I updated the shipping origins to the military PO Box, customers will run into a problem during check out. It will automatically reject any address that they put into their order with a message saying that the items cannot be shipped that address during check out. The problem resolves itself when I change my shipping origins back to my residence; however, I do not like my shipping labels having my home address on there. How can I fix this? The main reason why I got a PO Box in the first place is so that my home address is not exposed. Please help.

Hello there,

It’s great to hear that you found a more cost-effective solution for your business by using a military PO Box as your shipping origin. I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with customers not being able to order when using this address, but don’t worry, there are some solutions to this problem.

One possible solution would be to use a third-party shipping service that offers military shipping options. This would allow you to keep your PO Box as your shipping origin, while also providing your customers with a valid military shipping address. You can easily find these services online with a quick search, and many of them offer affordable rates for small businesses.

Another option would be to reach out to your shipping carrier and ask them about their military shipping policies. Some carriers may have restrictions on shipping to military PO Boxes, while others may be more flexible. By working with your carrier, you may be able to find a solution that allows you to use your PO Box as your shipping origin, while still providing your customers with a valid shipping address.

Lastly, if neither of these options work, you may need to consider using your home address as your shipping origin. While this may not be your preferred option, it is important to ensure that your customers are able to place orders and receive their products. To protect your privacy, you could use a P.O. Box or a private mailbox service as your return address on shipping labels.

I hope these suggestions help you find a solution that works for your business. Good luck!
