Firstly- I do not wish to monkey with the Shopify defined Customer ID.
I create shops for clients who will be using an app that creates and tracks subscriptions to items, and uses a customer ID of its own.
I would like to include this ID in the Shopify Customer profile so my clients can easily find it, if needed. It seems that the most likely candidates for this would be the Notes field or the Tags field.
Do any of you have suggestions on which would be best, and if so, why?
Currently, I am leaning towards notes.
