Customising a Sub-Domain with Unique design

Hi There

Wondered if anyone could help. I have a small Poster/Merch shop with different designers and artists.

www.graffiki.shop

I have set-up collections for each designer. But I wondered if it is possible to create ‘sub-domains’ for each designer, with a unique design, header, navigation and product pages? Just so I can create ‘stand-alone’ sites for each designer on my Shopify account. Is that possible?

If so, are there any tutorials online I could look at to see if I can do this?

Thanks

Blair

Hello BlairJarvis,

I needed to do the same thing to the website I manage. We have a menu of collections. Then, within those collections are a series of sub collections. And I wanted to be able to show unique photography, collection descriptions and product pages as well.

Here is one of the solutions that I found..

Menus within menus-You can create sub menus within your menus by going to the admin of your site and going to the left-hand nav-bar… Select (Online Store/Navigation) You’ll see a list of the main menus you are currently using. (You should have “Footer menu”, and “Main Menu” as your defauilts) What I did was to click on the upper right “Add menu” text and I created a new Main menu to mess around with. That way, I still had my old one to revert to in case I screwed up. Which I did do.. several times. Anyways.. to add a sub menu to a current menu.. open up the menu item you want to add a sub menu to. Then click on “Add menu item to (whatever your menu is called)” at the bottom. You’ll get a side window with options to name your new subby menu and then provide a link to it.

Now, here is where you get your chance to choose HOW you want that sub menu to display. You can link it to a specific product, a collection, a uniquely created page, or like in my case.. a special collection page. Once you’ve selected your link. Save and then Save again. Then give the universe time to propigate the info to Shopify.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that you are going to need to create the special pages, or collections first before you can link your new menu to them. Dont worry if you link to the wrong thing. you can go back in and edit the links to the new sub menu item.

Also, if you need to move your sub menu item around or even to a different menu, do so by clicking on the rectangular series of dots on the left side of the menu. Click and drag the menu to where you want it to display within the main menu hiarchy.

hope this helps.

Thanks @APG-David I’ll have a play with that.
