Data for live visitors is in accurate in the internal website

The data shown on my website is incorrect for the number of live visitors.

It has been consistently low for the last day, has anyone gotten this?

I have a third part tracking in my website, and the number shown is about 10% less than the live numbers of visitors that analytics shows. However, suddenly from just yesterday, the number of live visitors suddenly dropped significantly and suddenly. Now it is showing something like 20% less than the third party tracker. Is anyone having this issue?

Please help me fix this, as I make business decisions for my business based on this data.

Hey pal @vetrinamia !

Yes, other store owners are reporting this exact issue as of yesterday.

It appears to be a widespread reporting glitch following the massive Cyber Monday outage, where many merchants are seeing Shopify “Live View” numbers drop suddenly (showing ~20% less than reality) while third-party trackers remain normal.

For the next 48 hours, do not trust Shopify Live View. Instead, use your third-party tracker (like Google Analytics 4) as your “Source of Truth” as it tracks browser hits directly and is currently more stable. If the drop persists after a few days, check Online Store > Preferences > Customer Privacy. If you recently enforced strict cookie consent, Shopify automatically stops tracking anyone who ignores your cookie banner, causing a permanent drop in data compared to other tools.

Hope this helps!

It sounds like you’re experiencing a common issue that many Shopify users have reported recently. This drop in live visitor numbers is likely due to a glitch following the Cyber Monday outage. For now, it’s best to rely on your third-party tracker, like Google Analytics 4, as it provides more accurate data by tracking browser hits directly. If the discrepancy continues, check your cookie consent settings under Online Store > Preferences > Customer Privacy, as strict settings can affect data collection
